Update V1.01, new rendering defaults, "Lite" version!
Hey! I've updated the shader, here's what's new and changed:
-Added "Lite" version which includes only basic postprocessing that should run much faster;
-Updated the default rendering parameters to be less taxing on hardware (lower default resolution and sample rate);
I received several comments regarding the issues when working with MRMO-CRT on lower-spec hardware (especially integrated video cards). While the shader should basically always work on a machine that can run Blender, I have modified the pre-set rendering parameters to be less hardware-intensive by reducing the default render resolution and render sample count; these can easily be modified to whatever numbers are desired. I've also included a modified "Lite" version of the shader, with only basic postprocessing, that should be significantly faster to compile and render.
-Updated the noise to conform to the shadowmask, now uses White Noise.
The old noise model was not tied to the shadowmask, now it's a bit more "realistic". It is now a 4D White Noise that can be easily animated using the W component if needed.I was also told that several people who've had little to no prior experience with Blender would like to try the shader out- there is no reason for them to feel left out, so I'll create a basic tutorial/tips devlog to try and help everyone interested try out MRMO-CRT!
I've also renamed "Image Aspect Ratio" in the shader properties to "Image Squash", as it was not a true aspect ratio due to the way UV coordinates are mapped to the display object.
Cheers,
Mrmo
