Untitled GBC Project
Controls: Arrow keys, Z
This is the result of me trying to learn GB Studio's new features, without really knowing how to make stuff in GB Studio :)
Slopes and tile priority allow for various interesting things!
I'm learning a lot, and I like it a lot, and I'll be updating the build of this showcase/demo as I add more stuff to it. If you happen to like the tileset, I might also complete and release it here!
I am also trying to test this on real hardware (GBC), both "vanilla" and with an IPS-modded display to try and ensure it still looks good.
Now using Swap Tiles Plugin for GB Studio for easier tile animation/swapping!

Beautiful tiles! I like the movement in the bushes a lot!
can you try to port this to gameboy color?
Hey! I'm making this with GB Studio, so it's already capable of running on a real GBC :)
If I manage to make something playable, I'll release the rom here :)
I died :3
I added health pickups to help avoid dying! :D
This looks lovely - I happen to like the tileset :) Always looking for more pixelly tiles for my games.
This is great! I love the fact that GB Studio allows amazing artists (like yourself) the ability to make things like this.
I love your assets! And it helps to see them in an actual composition.
I would recommend using Construct 3 for simple demos like this, because it's an easy to learn editor.
Absolutely love the art style on this! And nice that you can hide behind some vegetation, that seems like game mechanic potential.
The controls have too much inertia for my taste though. Is that something you can control in GB Studio?
It is! I am just using the default player physics/controls, I will definitely mess with the variables to try and make it feel better :)
